We are thrilled and shocked with the early engagement and growth of our physician specific informatics group on LinkedIn! We have already grown to a diverse group nearing 100 physician informaticists representing the east coast all the way to the golden gate, with plenty in-between (like Dale and me in sunny Colorado), and invite all physician informatics professionals with passion for technology, early adoption, and disrupting the boundaries of traditional medicine to collaborate, share, and connect in the NerdMDs LinkedIn Group.

There have already been amazing ideas of what this initial group of physicians would like to get out of this group including: crowdsourcing a collaborative collection of policy-grade definitions for common healthcare clinical tools, as well as a national dialogue on workflow design, decision support, and change management for others to follow and utilize. Other ideas include transformation of medication reconciliation, training and workflow design focused on alleviating physician burnout/moral injury, and utilizing analytics to improve quality. All the ideas and initial discussion are VERY promising and telling of the passion in these types of physician informaticists, who all love medicine and technology, but passionately love helping solve todays problems in healthcare far more.
